Hi Maryam was the name given and i loves money so basically im the treasurer of the group,but don't mistake me im not a gold digger yeah.Before we start I would like to say that pink was not my type of colour but it just seems to be perfect with the wallpaper hope you wont get distractive with the bright colour.I am also in charge of being one of the member in logistic team which basically handle all the needs such as food and accomodation. First and foremost so we had chose Baitus Sakinah orphanage to organise our science based programmed. Our main objective is to instil science value ito the Before orphanage.

We had our first meeting regarding the orphanage home.We planned on the transportation and accomodation nearby the home so that we can easily access as we are planning to stay there for two days and one night.Not only that we also prepare proposal slides that will be present and finalise by lecturers.

We had a very short and simple discussion for our final preparation of slides.We make our presentor to present in front of us so that we are able to improvise what is lacking.

Before we went for a jaunt to the orphanage home ,we discuss on what to bring and what not.There are so many ideas that was flowing from all the members on what to give to the kids as we were all very excited as I would say this might be the first for all of us foing this kind of programme.I'm really looking forward for the programme.

The day i have been waiting has arrived.All of us woke up early and wait at the UM Central.Around 7.30 all of us have gathered and we went to the orphanage by uber,we went with three cars.Around  9.00 we have reached,we were welcomed by the wife of head of the orphanage,Pn wahida.The kids were very shy at first but they were all boys,the girls stay in another hostel so we had to wait for them to come so that we can start our programme. The girls hostel was just nearby.We start our programme followed the schedule we had planned which is at 10.00 by giving an open ceremony speech by our leader,Yifan.We were then introduced ourselves to the kids and we  separated the kids with groups of 7 to 8 members.I got a group with all boys and their average age was 9 years old.They was someone who caught my eye from the time i came into the orphanage who is Mohamad and he is 4 years old.He was literally small but he has the courage to join the group with other elder kids.He has this very serious look on his face with both his eyebrow lifted up all day long.He kept that look because he was shy and he did not talk to anybody all day long and i was determined and persuade him so that he can give a  smiley face but nothing goes right ...hahahaha.He was also in my group so i literally try to spent my time to him instead of other kids.He doesnt even spoke a word on that day.We did some light activities on that day just to get to know each other well .We played few games then we watch movie and do some group session and the day goes just like that without us realising.

Its the second day and the last day for us.I was taken aback by Mohamad .He spoke to me for the very first time and my other teammates were jealous as they can see the bond of me and Mohamad.I do not know what cross his mind it is like he become a totally different person.He was actually talkative and very smart boy.I was really happy that day.We start our day with morning exercise by bringing the kids to the playground.They were uncontrollable like letting the bird out of the cage.It seems easy to handle 32 kids with 16 elder person but it is not.Its hard to chase them maybe i have aged and i dont have enough strength to chase them back ...hahahah...After we have short morning exercise we took our breakfast ,then we start with game session.This game session was mostly based on scientific experiment.They were four session,the first one was the oxidation of apple,starch solution and the spin colour where we for a rond shape with rainbow colour on it then we spin and observe that they were only white colour appear.The kids was amazed and they keep on pushing each other to play the games but we give each of them time to play and observe .We also explained to them why it happened to instill some scientific value to them.After that we had our lunch and prayed zuhur.We then continue our programme with station games.They were four stations which contain of crosswords puzzle.parachute,and charades.Its fun to see the kids playing the games along with us and they enjoyed really well.Around 6p.m. we had to make our move.This was the saddest part although it was only for two days but we really make useful our time with the kids.I had a mix feeling leaving them especially towards Mohamad.He talks a lot and become really cheerful on the last day.I kept reminding him that i will go bak on that day and he questioned me why do i have to go.I felt like I had not spent much time with him and the kids and I promised to myself that i would visit them again next time.

REFLECTION

I have learned and gained a lot throughout this programme.I learned how to interact with kids and see how they organize  themselves independently without their parents.They are very discipline and their days are schedule with lots of benefit activities.I can observe how interested they are when we organize the science activities .These science programme had instil some scince value toward the kids at such young age which benefit the kids so that they are exposed and aware the things surround them.I hope that such programme like these would be ongoing so that not only gaining new knowledge about science but we can have build more bonds with those kids.
