9/2/2018 -The journey begins.

Group 1 of social engagement is formed and I'm the leader. Our WhatsApp group is created and discussions were made. I first suggested organizing science-based camp in schools which have educational and motivational impact. Some ideas like explorist games and orphanage visiting were also suggested. I felt glad that my members are active and great. This project should achieve success with such spirit.

The idea on organizing a science learning camp is confirmed.
3 bureaus were formed, which are the programme, logistics and multech. Ideas on the activities were contributed by group members. We hope to bring fun to our target beside scoring this subject.

The logistic bureau is assigned to find an orphanage for our project.
Programme bureau had to prepare a brief planning on the activities in order to convince the orphanage. Budgets of the programme is also planned and listed. I hope everything will go smoothly.

The logistics bureau tried several orphanages but the orphanages did not accept our program.
It was due to several factors like their own program structured during weekends or other authorities that had planned to organize activity there.

We are still working hard for the venue to conduct our program. Some members suggested some alternatives like organize it in schools, like primary or secondary schools if we did not manage to find a suitable orphanage.

I brought out the idea of creating our website through this wix.com as it will look professional for the viewer.

Logistics informed that they found some potential schools for our program. We are all happy.
I referred some seniors who had organized such projects for important information and measures to follow to achieve success. We had discussed our plannings deeper.
We had found an orphanage in Sepang! It is named Pertubuhan Baitus Sakinah Hidayah. Now, we can finally plan the precise details of our activity. The date is set 9, 10 and 11 of March.

Tentative and proposal work is distributed evenly among the members.
I called a meeting in The Cube, KK1 on 7pm.
The main purpose of this meeting is to prepare ourselves for the proposal presentation on the next day. We finalize our presenters' parts and completed our proposal.
A short meeting to rehearse our presentation is held in 1st floor of Chemistry Laboratory Building on 2 p.m..
The presentation is conducted on 3 p.m. in AUDI KIMIA, 3rd floor of Chemistry Laboratory Building.
As our budget is high, our lecturers advised us to reduce our program time to two days. We should also negotiate on the budget of food with the orphanage. Tentatives were changed afterwards. The date of program was changed to 10 and 11 of March.

On this day, the logistics went to the orphanage for negotiation and site survey.

I asked everyone to record their expenditures for fair division among member after the project.
​
I hope the progress will be smooth.

There were many discussions made in the group before this.
I called a meeting to summarize these discussions.
Those in charge of aerobic dance planned to practice it tomorrow.
7/3/2018 -Before the day

A rehearsal meeting was called. We prepared everything for the weekend.
​
I anticipate the program.
10/3/2018
GO!
Today is the day of implementing the program. We gathered at UM CENTRAL for departure.
After discussion, we used Grab and Uber services to our destination.
I feel a little worry on the program to be carry out smoothly.
We reached there about 10 a.m.
​
The kids greeted me in the Islamic way.
The kids are shy at first that they did not interact with us.
​
After I talked with one of them, all the boys starts to come and play around.
​
I learned how to deal with shy kids.
11/3/2018
In The Car
After a good rest, Puteri, Khai Yang and I departed from Puteri's house to Baitus Sakinah Hidayah. We first bought some breakfast in the nearby grocery shop. We anticipated the activities today.
REVISIT

We pay them a visit after informing Madam Wahida.
​
I am glad that the kids shouted "Abang YIFAN!!" after seeing me there.
​
We played some miscellaneous games with them and talked with them.
​
Dr. Nora and her son came, and she chatted with Madam Wahida.
​
Some members bought daily necessities in the market nearby and we gave them to Baitus Sakinah Hidayah.
​
We took a group photo before leaving.

I will come again.

We had a presentation on our final report in front of all course mates.

We were the first group to present.
We prepared a short video for the presentation as an introduction of our project.

SELF REFLECTION

From this project, the greatest achievement is to be successful in organizing an activity with excellent cooperation among all teammates. I acquired strong experience on leadership and realized the importance of good teammates for a project to be successful. I will contribute my commitment in every activities I participate.
​
Being humble is pivotal to learn from others. I took the advice from my members before making a decision. I discovered several great ideas from their suggestions to make the project more successful.
We mankind have to learn from each other as different people have different insight learnt from their very own past. We can avoid some unnecessary stumbling blocks by the advice from others, but meanwhile never lost ourselves and merely follow the others.

We should not afraid of failure, but face it, surmount it, and grow up from it. I hope to shape myself from myriad experiences gained from life events to become capable enough to protect my loved ones.
